Head Pastor

Apostle Dr. Alex Nkrumah was born on January 31, 1959 and schooled at the Methodist primary and Catholic middle schools at Breman Asantem and Fosuansa respectively. He then moved to Akim Manso where he stayed with a prophetess called Afia Nyame for two years. He later traveled to Accra to train as an auto mechanic at Nick Engineering Works, and worked at the same place after completing his apprenticeship. He also worked with Darko Farms Co, LTD and Assemblies of God Literature Center LTD.

In January 13, 1982, he was converted to Christ at Ebenezer Assemblies of God Church, Kotobabi and served in the local church as an interpreter and prayer leader with all seriousness. The call of God upon his life was evident to all in the church. He resigned as a mechanic in response to God’s call and was asked by the late Rev. Minta-Asare to lead the new church we have just opened at Pig Farm. Being a pioneering member of the church, he worked tirelessly to raise the church to a high biblical standard in spiritual, social, numerical and financial matters. No wonder at their first appearance in the bible quiz competition in 1985, he led a team from the church, Deliverance Assemblies of God which was only three years old at the time to win the national Bible quiz trophy. This was a great achievement.

Rev. Nkrumah received much of his spiritual training from God during the time he led Deliverance A/G. He was simply inexorable in the word of God, prayer, faith, evangelism and dedication to God. He has preached the gospel to over 70-80% of the households in Pig Farm, Mamobi, Kotobabi and Accra New Town. The leadership positions he occupied, such as Sunday School teacher and Superintendent, Youth president, Men’s Ministry President, a deacon and a lay leader of that church was a period God used to prepare him for full time ministry. When he enrolled at the Southern Ghana Bible Institute (now college), he distinguished himself spiritually academically and socially, serving as class prefect for the second and final year respectively. Whilst in the Bible School, Rev. Nkrumah pioneered the Upper Room Assemblies of God, Mamobi. He graduated from S.G.B.C with Diploma in Theology in 1989.   In 2002, he felt the need to upgrade himself for effective ministry so he enrolled for the fourth year bachelor degree in Theology at the same college. There again he excelled in spiritual, academic and social matters and graduated with honors. Whilst studying his degree course, He was elected the Chaplain of the College. He used the opportunity to bring a lot of changes in the spiritual and social lives of the students. The spiritual and social sensibility of this servant of God has endeared him to scores of people, with many preferring to call him daddy because of his fatherly attitude.

Rev. Alex Nkrumah pioneered the A/G Church he is currently pastoring amidst many trials. Revival Restoration Centre Assemblies of God was started on January 1, 1990 with nine people. This Pastor is a man with the heart to help others to know Christ better and to assist them to excel in life and ministry. His concern for the needy and readiness to see the progress of God’s work, compelled him to lead his local church to adopt the Upper West Region to support the pastors and churches there in cash and in kind. This support continued for two years until the Greater Accra A/G took over that responsibility. Currently, his local church is involved in missions in the Central Region. His local church in partnership with Evangelistic Projects International (EPI) offered free medical care running into millions of cedis to over thousand people in Accra recently.

Rev. Nkrumah has served as the Youth Director for the defunct Coastal District (made up of five Regions in Ghana) A/G. He was the first Youth Director for the Greater Accra Region, and Zonal Leader for the then Dzorwulu District. He was also appointed a member of Evangelism, Demarcation and Deeper life Committees of A/G, Greater Accra Region. He resigned all the above positions to concentrate on building the local church until he was elected as the District Pastor for New Town Dzorwulu District. He is married to Lizzy and they are blessed with three boys: Joshua, Caleb and (Prophet) Elijah.

Today, as he is inducted into office as the new District Pastor for this District, he thanks the Lord for His mercies and guidance. His prayer is for God to grant him the grace to serve Him better and teach him to serve the body of Christ better in the days ahead.
